Hola familias! October's been a busy month so far with our first spanish culture assembly, inside out day, our artist in residence and meeting our new grade 5 buddies! Students will be working with grade 5's on spanish conversation and other important buddy activities throughout the year (We're hoping to meet each week). This week we focused on our feelings in alignment with inside out day. Students have been learning how to ask "How do you feel?/Como te sientes?" and responding with "I feel/Yo me siento ______." We've been exploring the following emotions: feliz - happy triste - sad enojado/a - angry (o ending for a boy or a ending for a girl) cansado/a - tired (o ending for a boy or a ending for a girl) emocionado/a - excited (o ending for a boy or a ending for a girl) We've also been focusing on letter names and letter/sound recognition. This will of course be ongoing through the year but students are currently learning to identify upper/lowercase letters and are being introduced to letter sounds. I encourage students to play the following games to reinforce this learning :) http://www.abcya.com/kindergarten_computers.htm#letters-cat Here are a couple videos to support your child's learning as well. Gracias! Sra. de Benito
